What today means and why I voted for Obama…

Hey everyone,

I know many of you are being bombarded with campaign e-mails, phone calls, and commercials as well as many of your friends online sending you messages to get out and vote today. For what it may be worth, I’m writing to you to do the same.

No matter who you support please get out and vote. This is the most important election we will ever see in our lives and we have the chance to make history.

For those of you who don’t know, I just voted for Barack Obama.

This is the moment for our country to regain its standing in the world, to get our economy back on track, address the environmental crisis, end the Iraq War, finish the war in Afghanistan, and prioritize education and health care. This is our moment and its an exciting time to be alive.

Now for many of you in New Jersey (or other blue states), you may think its not as important because Jersey is probably going blue anyway, but that may not be the case. The more votes Obama can get today the more political clout and influence he will have as President. Also, lets remember, the “official” count after the Supreme Court stopped the Florida recount in 2000, Gore lost the state by only 537 votes!

Tonight will be incredibly exciting and I hope it turns out to be a great night. The younger generations have an opportunity to be a huge deciding factor in this election like never before. So tell your friends to vote, drive your neighbors to the polls today, make phone calls. Do what you can and after today, please continue to participate in our democracy and keep an eye on things.

Anyway enough of my rant. Lets go change the world.

Alex Holodak
